108 Streathbourne Road is 75 metres from Tooting Bec Common, and is ideal for a constitutional walk or run before breakfast.  The parallel and adjacent road, Ritherdon Road, has two informal and good value restaurants – Bucci (Italian), The Gurkha (Nepalese) restaurant.  Nearby, and all within 10 minutes walk are a selection of restaurants; Nepalese, Indian, Pakistani, Greek, French, Italian, Japanese and even English.  A 15 minute walk, or 319 bus to Wandsworth Common, will get you to Chez Bruce a one star Michelin restaurant and “one of London’s favourite restaurants”.

There are good transport links to Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton and London City Airports by train, underground and bus from our B&B Tooting / Balham.  A car can be arranged to collect from airports on request.

For visitors arriving by car, parking is free at weekends, but from Monday to Friday permits are required between 0930 and 1630, and are available at a cost of £8.45 per day.

108 Streathbourne Road is a 7 minute walk from Tooting Bec underground station with direct links (approximately 20 minutes) to the West End of London and its shops and theatres. Balham overground station is a 10 minute walk, and is then a 15 minute journey to Victoria and nearby Buckingham Palace, St. James’s and Green Parks, and the Houses of Parliament.

At Tooting Bec underground station it is possible to take a 319 bus to the King’s Road, Chelsea and Sloane Square via Northcote Road, Battersea’s favourite shopping street.  From there it is a short walk, or bus journey to Knightsbridge and Harrods.

A popular day trip experience is a visit to the Harry Potter studio tour which can be reached by direct train from Balham.

It is also easy to arrange day visits outside London to Stonehenge and Bath.  As well as Windsor Castle, Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon and Cambridge.
